{"id":3697,"date":"2023-03-31T17:55:03","date_gmt":"2023-03-31T17:55:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wp.as.uky.edu\/genchem\/?p=3697"},"modified":"2023-04-04T19:57:52","modified_gmt":"2023-04-04T19:57:52","slug":"what-is-piazza","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wp.as.uky.edu\/genchem\/what-is-piazza\/","title":{"rendered":"What is Piazza?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>What is it?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Piazza is an online Q&amp;A message board designed for students and instructors.&nbsp; Students can ask <strong>and<\/strong> answer questions while remaining anonymous to other students.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>How do I access it?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Students will access Piazza initially through a link in the left-side menu on Canvas.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>After you have connected to the course, you can access it at&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/piazza.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">https:\/\/piazza.com<\/a> or through their <a href=\"https:\/\/piazza.com\/product\/mobile\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">mobile apps<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>There is no cost to students for using Piazza. You may be prompted to make a contribution but you are not required to do so to use the site.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What if I need help?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Help is available at <a href=\"http:\/\/support.piazza.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">http:\/\/support.piazza.com\/<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Contact your instructor.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Other information<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Students often share that they get answers to questions they didn&#8217;t know they had.&nbsp; Browsing other questions on Piazza can be useful to identify topics that you didn&#8217;t know you didn&#8217;t know.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Students are encouraged to respond to questions. Answers that have been reviewed by an instructor will be marked as a &#8220;Good answer&#8221;.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Posting questions on Piazza is often the quickest method during the evenings and weekends to get answers to general questions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Read through or search prior posts to see if others have had the same questions before.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Please do <strong>NOT<\/strong> post answers to calculations or pre-lab assignments.
