I missed my lab session, can I come to a different lab later in the week?
No. Many lab sections are completely full so there is no room for additional students and/or it can lead to chaos when dealing with collecting and turning in assignments. Laboratory courses are also capped at 24 students due to fire marshal regulations.

How can I make up a missed lab quiz?
Since quizzes are available for an extended period of time at the beginning of the semester, there are no make-up quizzes. Contact the lab supervisor if you feel you have an excused absence.

What do I need to do to make-up a lab?
In order to request an excused absence, you must submit your documentation online at https://forms.as.uky.edu/general-chemistry-excused-absences. All make-up labs will be held the last week of classes.

I filled out an Excused Absence request form for lab, what happens now?
Once the lab supervisor has reviewed both your submitted documentation and the request form, she will send an email reply to both you and your TA. That email will contain:

My excused absence request form just shows a day, not a time for the make-up lab. What time should I come?
A full schedule of specific days and times will be posted as a Canvas announcement the Friday prior to make-up lab week. The best time to come make up a missed lab is during your normally scheduled lab period. Make-up labs are held the week following the last experiment.

What happens if I have an absence for lab that is unexcused?
Any absence from lab that is unexcused cannot be made-up and will count as a zero. However, your lowest experiment grade will be dropped at the end of the semester and this experiment could count as your dropped.

I am a student athlete/undergraduate researcher/choir member/etc and I will have University excused absences for more than two lab days.
You need to speak to the lab supervisor in JSB-261H IMMEDIATELY to review your schedule as there are limited make-up lab sessions.
